Our Resident Optometrist

Dr. Humberto Fallas, O.D.

Dr. Humberto Fallas, a native of Costa Rica, moved to the United States from 1990 to 1991 as an exchange student in Houston, Texas. In 1992, he returned to the U.S. to attend the University of South Dakota, earning a Bachelor's in biology and chemistry. While there, he was a member of the university’s soccer team and consistently made the Dean’s List for outstanding academics. Dr. Fallas has also been inducted into several honor societies, including Alpha Lambda Delta, Guidon, and Phi Sigma.

In 1997, Dr. Fallas relocated to Florida to pursue his Doctorate in Optometry at Nova Southeastern University. While at Nova, he served as president of the student Government and held roles as president and vice-president of his class. Dr. Fallas received specialized training in low vision at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami College of Medicine. His internships included the renowned Omni Eye Services in Atlanta, GA, where he focused on ocular disease. The National Board of Optometry licenses him in Georgia and Washington, and he is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. Dr. Fallas has served the Henry County area since graduating in 2001, specializing in ocular disease and contact lenses.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Fallas is an avid guitar player and cyclist, having served as president of Southern Crescent Cycling. He prioritizes spending time with his family. He enjoys staying in shape, winning first place at the Greek God Body Building Competition 1996. He also has a unique hobby of visiting haunted houses and listening to ghost stories. Dr. Fallas resides in McDonough, GA, with his wife, Liz, and their three sons, Noah, Liam, and Max.
